Update 12/1/24

Hello all - From the depths of my heart I'd like to thank you for your kindness and generosity in choosing to help honor and support Emily's dream and vision. Your support has given me strength and hope to persevere through an overwhelming multitude of struggles over the past 16 months. During this time, in addition to facing my own grief and heartache, I've had to shoulder the weight and burden of the ongoing legal process to accomplish justice for Emily, our son, Gracie, our family and friends, and all the countless others Emily touched.

While that process has consumed a great deal of my time and energy, I am certain many of you are wondering about where we stand and so I am writing to give everyone a progress update on the status of the Emily Tintrup Dealy Foundation / Hummingbird School.

Although it's been an arduous process, we have achieved pending IRS status as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization for the Foundation and I've been working to finalize the entity initially as a private non-operating charity. While I patiently fight through the ongoing legal process for Emily's case to be completed, the pending status will allow the Foundation to continue to fundraise, accrue interest income, and make meaningful donations to various non-profit educational causes, such as Emily's Steamboat Montessori school to which we've already made a donation.

I have hope and faith that we will be able to carry things forward soon no matter how difficult.

“You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is like an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty.” ― Mahatma Gandhi

I love you all with all my heart.
